This course is for you if you have never used a drawing software before or have had minimal experience with Autocad. Being one of the first Computer Aided Drawing software used by interior designers, Autocad is a good solid software to learn as a foundation to other drawing software.

In this course you’ll learn how to draw in a professional and methodical way. You’ll use the essential drawing and modifying commands, blocks, layers, hatches and then arrange the drawing on a page ready to print.
We create a furniture floor plan, which are used by interior designers to ensure that all specified pieces fit in the space. They are useful to show the client where pieces are located in the space.

Creating a quick furniture floorplan in Autocad is especially useful for decoration projects and learning this skill the perfect introduction to this software that is widely used in the interior design industry.

  • Do I need any qualifications to do this course?

    There are no prerequisites to the course, however it is aimed to assist interior designers and not the homeowner. So knowledge of reading floorplans is beneficial. You will also know how to download and save files. Just that kind of thing. But we are also happy to help with that stuff too

  • Is any version of AutoCad okay to use?

    If you have AutoCad already this will work fine. We recommend using minimum AutoCad LT (which includes a free trial).

  • How & what do I need to watch this course?

    The best way to experience any of our courses are via a Mac (OS) or PC (Win). Mobile devices including but not limited to ipads, iphones & tablets can also be used but not recommended. Internet connection with at least ADSL 1.5mbps+ or greater for smooth video playback & downloading/uploading during the course.
